wedding poem

are you awake?
dear wife
against the green flame of the hawthorn-tree
stir
out of me unworthy and unknown
sun stepped down from his golden throne
the ancient songs
leave the lovely words unsaid
under a spreading chestnut tree
i bid them all farewell
see, they return
