modern poetry

i am fevered
sun and wind and beat of sea
a thousand silent years ago
i saw him once before
when a deed is done for freedom
in an old chamber softly lit
to clothe the fiery thought
i made a vow once, one only
a mile behind
the sun is up
he speaks not well
i burn no incense
