short love poem

see the tentative
who loves the rain
these be
daughters of time
i had a dream and i awoke with it
what spiteful chance steals unawares
over the rooftops race the shadows of clouds
see, they return
if i were very sure
doubtless i remember still
when i returned at sunset
in halls of sleep you wandered by
on and on
