break up poem

lady, your heart has turned to dust
two rows of cabbages
a thousand silent years ago
the mountains they are silent folk
she burst fierce wine
out of the deep and the dark
be not angry with me
beneath my window in a city street
for truth, for love
the poets tell
roses and gold
beautiful, tragical faces
my soul goes clad in gorgeous things
