teen poetry contest

the fragrance came
braided and woven
doubtless i remember still
i do not pray for peace
the ancient songs
babylon-where i go dreaming
the stars fell from heaven
what do i owe to you
o fair and stately maid, whose eyes
but i cannot read you now
are you awake?
you are clear
full of tears
