sad poetry

dark-eyed
there by the window in the old house
i said
lady, your heart has turned to dust
blossoms of babies
weak-winged is song
let a joy keep you
calm as that second summer
for i was a gaunt, grave councillor
if i were very sure
let us plant
you are clear
to be able to see every side of every question
