pumpkin poem

birds against the april wind
just now
he'd even have his joke
these be
grieve not for the invisible
gingham dog and the calico cat
simplicity
braided and woven
under dusky laurel leaf
a mile behind
awful truths these be
the earth keeps some vibration going
