baby poem

i have known the silence of the stars and of the sea
simplicity
all quiet along the potomac
often is it not so?
old wine to drink
the sun is up
the darkness
as a naked man i go
and as we walked the grass was faintly stirred
within my hand i hold
i have seen the proudest stars
in his guarded tent
