romantic love poem

those black eyes i once so praised
now for a brisk and cheerful fight
a poet, having taken the bridle off his tongue
for then without
and so it goes
dark-eyed
bring me soft song
to the passionate lover
i loathed you
evidenced in the glimmer in your eyes
sweet splendor
