nature poem

and with the humming bird
they ask me where i've been
by the rude bridge
often is it not so?
i had a dream and i awoke with it
lo! 'tis a gala night
suddenly, out of dark and leafy ways
under dusky laurel leaf
a bird sang
brother, i am fire
why do
could we but know
beautiful, tragical faces
