retirement poem

stuff of the moon
when the veil from the eyes is lifted
gone before us
evidenced in the glimmer in your eyes
braided and woven
i expect you
therefore i may not
in your arms was still delight
glooms of the live-oaks
there is a country full of wine
this is the ship of pearl
