free poetry

as a white candle
night is dark, and the winter winds
under dusky laurel leaf
i saw him once before
braided and woven
in his guarded tent
fat black bucks in a wine-barrel room
so fallen
sweet and strong
winged shadows sweeping by
music i heard with you was more than music
