mother poem

you are clear
tell me
i have come into the desert because my soul is athirst
when sea-winds pierced our solitudes
a life on the ocean wave
when i looked into your eyes
my soul goes clad in gorgeous things
desolate and lone
we were not many
be not false
i saw the first pear
with joy and wonder
