sister poem

do you remember
better than granite
glooms of the live-oaks
i love the old melodious lays
star-dust and vaporous light
in all things not spoken of
we who stood
sweet and strong
babylon-where i go dreaming
we lay
i saw you hunched and shivering on the stones
