memorial poem

i bid them all farewell
listen to the sounding sea
the meadow was creeping
do you hear the rain?
stuff of the moon
did you ever see an alligator
like him whose spirit in the blaze of noon
he'd even have his joke
along a river-side
happiness
i am old and blind
