thanksgiving poetry

he speaks not well
i am fevered
just now
in and of itself
and so it goes
with the meek, brown eyes
she might have known it in the earlier spring
when sea-winds pierced our solitudes
and my name is truthful
when i returned at sunset
a pen of steel
