teacher poem

friend, whose smile has come to be
daughters of time
in your arms was still delight
backward, turn backward
in your flight
here falls no light
i burn no incense
in halls of sleep you wandered by
he speaks not well
i heard the wind all day
among the smoke and fog of a december afternoon
do i like it
as a white candle
