broken heart poem

along the banks
did you ever hear of
a poet, having taken the bridle off his tongue
listen
a look is but a ray
tell me not
all those treasures that lie
i am singing to you
let us plant
were it not for that singular smell
the light withdrawn
i saw the first pear
when night drifts along the streets of the city
