religious poem

these be
within this lowly grave a conqueror lies
are you alive?
risen from the dead
for truth, for love
a poet, having taken the bridle off his tongue
quietly, with reverance, in awe
could we but know
there is no escape by the river
have we no shame?
in the dark and peace of my final bed
