teen love poem

what spiteful chance steals unawares
it tells of good old times
often is it not so?
in may
like eagles on up high
i loved a woman
now for a brisk and cheerful fight
against the green flame of the hawthorn-tree
i stood by the open casement
in mournful numbers
in september
