The staff of the Shinnery Review sponsored an open mic night at Monk's Coffee Shop downtown on Thursday for students to express themselves through self-written poetry and songs. Although Monk's has open mic night every Thursday, the coffee shop allows the Shinnery staff to have its own poetry reading each semester.
