short poem

some one complained to the master
a mist was driving down
for truth, for love
and so it goes
death's nobility again
stand here by my side
i saw the first pear
by the rude bridge
i said
melancholy days have come
under dusky laurel leaf
i love to steal awhile away
when freedom from her mountain height
