daughter poem

up to her chamber window
i gazed upon the glorious sky
under the harvest moon
perhaps
for then without
roses and gold
dear wife
a pen of steel
brother, i am fire
to the passionate lover
the smell of the rose so false, the thorns so true
a mile behind
i saw the archangels in my apple-tree last night
