friendship poetry

do you remember
the dawn was apple-green
a look is but a ray
let me be sad
glooms of the live-oaks
within my hand i hold
if the red slayer think he slays
how shall i help to right the world that is going wrong
sweet splendor
in new york harbor
a little peach in the orchard grew
