birthday poem

star-dust and vaporous light
have you heard
the pale day drowses on the western steep
old wine to drink
storm
to clothe the fiery thought
a look is but a ray
i walk down the garden paths
bring me soft song
risen from the dead
the ships are lying in the bay
the single clenched fist lifted and ready
