friend poem

two rows of cabbages
and as we walked the grass was faintly stirred
all day to watch the blue wave curl and break
be not false
noises that strive to tear
i stood
as i lie roofed in, screened in
what shall we do now
give me
quietly, with reverance, in awe
moonlight deep and tender
roses and gold
above them all, looking down
