baby shower poem

babylon-where i go dreaming
to come so soon to this imagined dark
did you ever hear of
when the veil from the eyes is lifted
dear wife
i stood by the open casement
stay no more
i go my way complacently
beautiful
have we no shame?
earth travails
out of the sparkling sea
