slam poetry

babylon-where i go dreaming
i have known the silence of the stars and of the sea
there was never a sound beside the wood but one
muffled drum's sad roll has beat
i saw the first pear
now for a brisk and cheerful fight
what do i owe to you
see, from this counterfeit of him
high walls and huge
earth travails
the little white prayers
we break the glass whose sacred wine
when you come tonight
