baby shower poem

sun stepped down from his golden throne
roses and gold
beautiful, tragical faces
the light withdrawn
those black eyes i once so praised
a pen of steel
you say you love me
risen from the dead
the dawn was apple-green
braided and woven
my soul goes clad in gorgeous things
perhaps it is no matter that you died
full of tears
