short love poem

all those treasures that lie
in the sphere
i stand in the cold gray weather
in new york harbor
never in all my life
star-dust and vaporous light
i am old and blind
my soul goes clad in gorgeous things
sadly speaking
as a white candle
give me
a life on the ocean wave
