romantic poem

pharaoh, king of egypt's land
a few more windy days
glooms of the live-oaks
i love my life, but not too well
the fragrance came
in mournful numbers
softly weeping
i make my shroud, but no one knows
i burn no incense
there was never a sound beside the wood but one
