christmas poem

i never knew the earth had so much gold
i sometimes wonder if it's really true
brother, i am fire
in and of itself
see, from this counterfeit of him
have we no shame?
grieve not for the invisible
as a white candle
sweet splendor
what do i owe to you
over the river they beckon to me
braided and woven
i am old and blind
