contemporary poetry

do you hear the rain?
we lay
i know not where
since i have felt the sense of death
there's one that i once loved so much
i am old and blind
beside a stricken field
with the sunset
often is it not so?
all day to watch the blue wave curl and break
the shadows of the ships
