poem

beside a stricken field
a thousand silent years ago
awful truths these be
do you remember
who will be naming the wind
did you ever hear of
along the banks
when sea-winds pierced our solitudes
lo! 'tis a gala night
if i had known how narrow a prison is love
gaily through the fields we danced
by the rude bridge
