contemporary poetry

doubtless i remember still
eighty years have passed, and more
i shall see a star tonight
i expect you
have we no shame?
blossoms of babies
once this soft turf
i love my life, but not too well
rising moon has hid the stars
muffled drum's sad roll has beat
softly now the light of day
