thanksgiving poem

shadows lay along broadway
softly weeping
which keeps
along the banks
the ancient songs
the snow whispers about me
beautiful, tragical faces
passing through huddled and ugly walls
green afternoon serene and bright
a mist was driving down
i shall see a star tonight
do i like it
there are three ways in which men take
do not turn your head
