friendship poetry

a gleam of gold in gloom and gray
i stood by the open casement
the stars fell from heaven
have you not heard
up and down he goes
this is the song of youth
why do
i made a vow once, one only
it was many and many a year ago
on and on
dear wife
by the rude bridge
arched the flood
when i was broke in london
