family poem

softly weeping
i fill this cup
never in all my life
now for a brisk and cheerful fight
in his guarded tent
you are beautiful and faded
rose and amber was the sunset on the river
see the tentative
my true love from her pillow rose
the child who threw away leaf after leaf
gone before us
