religious poem

i heard the wind all day
i shall see a star tonight
skies they were ashen and sober
i was a goddess ere the marble found me
of sun nor stars
birds against the april wind
i hold your heart
softly weeping
could we but know
pushing out, struggling vainly
in and of itself
the sky
i've won the race
