cowboy poetry

there was a time in former years
just as my fingers on these keys
i made a vow once, one only
i saw god. do you doubt it?
are you alive?
have you seen walking through the village
i see all human wits
dear wife
have we no shame?
she heard the children playing in the sun
to be able to see every side of every question
they in the darkness gather and ask
