friendship poem

still her gray rocks tower above the sea
glass-blower of time
i never knew the earth had so much gold
the shadows of the ships
when i returned at sunset
short and sweet, and we've come to the end of it
better than granite
the darkness
out of the window a sea of green trees
like eagles on up high
stern cold man
my son is dead and i am going blind
where shall i find you
look back with longing eyes and know that i will follow
