sorry poem

tell me less or tell me more
a thin gray shadow on the edge of thought
never in all my life
do the boys and girls still go
somewhere i read a strange, old, rusty tale
there is no flock, however watched and tended
the mountains they are silent folk
when the veil from the eyes is lifted
dear wife
but alas, just dreams
along the banks
glooms of the live-oaks
i stand in the cold gray weather
calm as that second summer
