short poem

what spiteful chance steals unawares
sun stepped down from his golden throne
my soul goes clad in gorgeous things
let us plant
and still they walked on
we who stood
earth travails
where shall i find you
softly weeping
i stand in the cold gray weather
sweet splendor
are you alive?
