angel poem

moonlight deep and tender
i love my hour of wind and light
in their ragged regimentals
when sea-winds pierced our solitudes
my soul is a dark ploughed field
i have heard that a certain princess
i saw him once before
a thousand silent years ago
risen from the dead
two rows of cabbages
let me be sad
braided and woven
the sky
pushing out, struggling vainly
