along the banks
moonlight deep and tender
with joy and wonder
we were not many
my true love from her pillow rose
simplicity
but i cannot read you now
i saw you hunched and shivering on the stones
let me move slowly through the street
i said
babylon-where i go dreaming
and so it goes
