happy birthday poem

he speaks not well
fat black bucks in a wine-barrel room
muffled drum's sad roll has beat
i am fevered
friend, whose smile has come to be
with her hair flaying wildly
a look is but a ray
i have known the silence of the stars and of the sea
i am singing to you
for then without
so lost
