african american poetry

sad are they who know not love
these hearts were woven of human joys and cares
i cannot always feel his greatness
she was a beauty in the days
i have cast the world
gone are the three, those sisters rare
the pale day drowses on the western steep
i saw the clouds among the hills
she burst fierce wine
