graduation poem

take my bracelets
fat black bucks in a wine-barrel room
i am a woman
though love repine, and reason chafe
and with the humming bird
give me hunger
afraid no more, i say
i am the wind that wavers
there is an hour of peaceful rest
day is done
gloom
