poetry for kid

did you ever see an alligator
perhaps
the saddest of the year
the meadow was creeping
melancholy days have come
high-born race
brother, i am fire
they may talk of love in a cottage
we lay
the dawn was apple-green
with joy and wonder
but alas, just dreams
