teacher poem

out of the deep and the dark
arched the flood
i do not pray for peace
star-dust and vaporous light
dear wife
of sun nor stars
they may talk of love in a cottage
you say you love me
i saw you hunched and shivering on the stones
i fill this cup
weak-winged is song
sun and wind and beat of sea
